I just wanted to talk a little about something personal today. If you’re reading, you may or may not relate to having depression, but it’s real. Some say it’s all made up in our heads, some say it’s a “chemical imbalance” in the brain, but hey, I’m not a doctor. All I know is that making changes to your life is crucial to get yourself on the right path. Making the same decisions time and time again and expecting different results, you’ll never move. Trust me, I’ve tried. I know change is scary as hell. I also know people aren’t ready or willing to change their entire lives in one day…completely understandable. If we just considered taking baby steps towards the bigger picture we’d slowly but surely see ourselves become happier.
If you’re stuck at a job and too afraid to quit, at least look and see what’s out there. If you’re in a relationship or friendship that’s constantly bringing you down, spend more time alone, with friends, family, or find a place to escape a few times a week. If you look in the mirror and dislike the weight you put on recently, consider making small dietary changes and increase your daily cardio. I promise you, working out will not only help you look better, it will make you feel stronger, healthier, and energized. If you’re unhappy in the state you live in, start saving. If your major no longer interests you, talk to a school counselor or peer.If your feel stuck, start cutting your way out.
Life’s not going to get better if you stay stuck.
Life’s not going to get better with your same mentality.
Life will get better when you start making small changes.
Life will get better when you start seeing progress.
Life will get better when you look in the mirror and smile.
Life will get better when you decide you’re done feeling bad for yourself.
Life will get better when you decide you’re allowed to feel happy.
Life will get better when you decide you’re worthy of love.
Life will get better when you realize how many people love you.
Life will get better when you love you.
